too much oil in a harley or buell is different than too much oil in a jap bike,buell xb motors are of dry sump which means there is no cranckcase full of oil it is delivered thru system from an ext oil tank(swingarm) in this case and i dont think any real problems would result from a bit too much in the tank.they should know better but i think thats about as far as it goes.

Oh yes and Lunatic and Baal, i did check the breather fitting and although it is "weeping" a bit i don't think that it is the cause of the majority of my oil, i have actual drips running off the engine after a ride, most things are sticky if not wet behind the rear cylinder.
sounds like time for rocker box gasket set replacement. if that leakage keeps up sir, you'll be online shopping for a new cooling fan.
