FWIW, my 09' xb12ss has part s0138.2aaa which is defective.
It uses a soft plastic gear that is less than 1/16 inch thick under constant tension from the spring.
Mine quit at 7500 miles. Ive read others have lasted less than 1000 miles.

Based on Sirius815's post above, it appears that part number S1138.1AA is the newest one that uses metal gears.
Can anyone confirm that?
I dont want to pay $155++ for another defective assembly, especially when all it really needs is a gear.

To answer my own question...
I bought S1138.1AA.
Instead of using screws to seal the exhaust servo, Harley is now using rivets. So unless I drill them out, I cant say for sure what has changed inside. I can say that S1138.1AA is noticeably heavier than the original, so I assume it has the heavier steel gear. Just as Sirius815 indicated.
It made a big difference in midrange performance.
I'm thinking it had gradually gone bad so I didnt notice the loss of torque.
