Thread: Cold battery = stupid battery?

Ok I started my 1125r up after it had been sitting for 3 hours in 67degree weather. I didn't let it warm up like I should have. so as I was driving down a round my volts dropped from around 13.4 to steadily until 12.7 whereas a check engine light came on and it said voltage error, but after that the volts on it ran from 12.8 to 13.9 and even 14 at one point and the engine light went away and the code never showed again..

what gives? I don't think it's the stator because it's giving a consistant flow of more than 12.5+ volts at any given time.

I think it may be the battery getting old, anyone else?

Also, I added seafoam to the bike and now for some odd reason it's idling around 13-1500 rpms roughly and it might hesitate every now and again when taking off...damnit...

That's odd. I'd recommend unhooking your battery (and put it on a charger if you have one handy). Top it off with fresh, good (i.e. bp, Shell, Mobil) gas, and see what happens next.
