Dropped my motor to fix an oil leak and I find this

Crack going through the bolt hole of the center tie bar on the rear cylinder head. So now I get to replace the rear head and clean a hole lot of oil off the frame, fan and motor.

Weird... Wonder what caused it and if it is a little more common then I was thinking.

Wish I could do the big bore kit but no extra funds. :(

Just thinking out loud, but maybe that's some what by design. Sort similiar thinking along the lines of crush points in automobiles??? Maybe cracking a head is better than other damage caused by those same forces? Don't know, just a thought.

Or maybe just a weak point in the head...........

I had made this thought as well, but it would have made more sense to engineer the dog bone mount to be the breaking point vs the head. I choke a little saying this but its gotta be poor design and engineering, mounting wasnt given much though here.

Ive since modified my dog bone to snap in the event of a hard twist.
