I need some rim protectors, didnt know there was such a thing. :)
Nice work freak. I couldn't get my rear tire on the rim. In fact I used all of the exact same tools you used and my rim protectors actually failed me. As I torqued down with my tool, it pierced the plastic/rubber rim protector and I chipped my rim. At that point I took it to the shop to have finished!
Impressive that you got the rear one on! Its a bitch to do!! And great write up!

Not the first time I've heard that. I guess my fat ass has a lil more leverage.I couldn't get my rear tire on the rim
Will a large C- clamp be enough for breaking the bead? I have seen on motorcycle superstore their bead breakers but I mean an actual large c clamp.
Just did a tire change this weekend with a large C-clamp to break the bead on the rear tire, worked okay. Be sure to protect the rim from the clamp, but it did work. Takes a little time and effort, but it will get the job done. Will a large C- clamp be enough for breaking the bead? I'm too weak and dumb to do it myself.
Buy another 16" bar. Having 2 is nice imo.
thanks man . great how too
:D
dont know... but I take the wheel out and go to any Gasstation here and tire is changed..costs 3 $$ ..and takes 3 Minutes..
today I go change front tire...
Harbor Freight has a $39 (?) bead breaker. I wrapped the uprights with duct tape to prevent it from marring the rim because it does make contact. You can't beat the leverage it produces. But yeah, fighting a 180 + rear tire is a work-out. Also, I learned from car guys that plain white hand cleaner ($1.99 a tub) is a great tire lube.
