went for a Ride today with the new EBR Racing Front Disc...was not very happy with it...no hard braking possible!!! does anyone know what these marks mean??
under hard braking, Brak begins to pulse and making strange noise....
Floaters are working fine all right installed, have EBC HH brake pads...

Did you clean the rotor first?

Don't know but something is obviously wrong. I don't know what would cause it to pulsate like that and cause those marks. This is only when the brake is applied, correct?(i.e. the pads are not dragging heavily).

I'd talk to EBR first, but if that fails I'd hit the rotor with an orbital sander to resurface it then check for issues with the caliper and pads. I have reconditioned my rotors with an orbital it works great if you don't sit in one area long, keep moving. Some people say not to do this but it worked VERY well for me. And of course check to make sure you keep the rotor within spec(don't sand too much off).

Looks like you didn't get the new hardware dingo. I wonder if that had anything to do with it

Rotor is brandnew..first ride..!! Regular Floater Kit installed.....

    EBR Says:

This rotor works with the stock rotor mounting pieces, or with the Erik Buell Racing Rotor Mounting Kit CQ0001.11AZ.

Is the rotor solid or does it have cooling holes from the ID to the OD? Dark marks are definitely heat build-up, like the material is too thin. That is why I asked about the cooling holes, dark spots are awfully evenly spaced. Just a thought....
I will be watching this, I planned on getting this rotor for my bike this winter. Having second thoughts now.

What he said! Most new rotors are coated with oil to preserve them. Gotta clean that off first! ;) Let us know...
