I"m trying to pull the foot peg Y brackets to start working on my rearset. I've seen somewhere a post talking about a trick / technique to remove them but can't find it now. Any suggestions? I can see the 3 bolts holding them on, just no good way to get to them.

So after messing with swivels, different extensions, etc. pulling the shock made getting to them very easy. 3 minutes to remove the shock is well worth it.

I just use an extension and a swivel socket. Definitely a pain in the button but once you do it a few times its easier. Just have to get the swivel socket at the right angle.

The trick mentioned was probably just adding longer nuts. There were a few people that had luck doing so but I never did. When I added longer nuts it just made it harder to get the socket over them.

had to use a swivle socket and an extension it took about five minutes to find the right angle and get them all off. i had to take it off for clutch adjustment. i was gonna try taking the shock off but i didnt know if it would bee hard to put back on.

I am really interested in knowing how to take that rear shock off. I battled getting the b@ll busting Y frame off and back on today.

Support rear end of motorcycle by something other than the swingarm (ratchet straps from rafters to subframe).
    Remove the bolts.
    Remove shock.

    JetLee,

I can't find a way to strap my bike to the ceiling. Would making props to hold the sub frame off of the floor work?
