Check in to the motogadget RFID ignition.....that's what I used to get around the ignition key problem. And while your at it get an EBR racing fuel filler cap.....that way you would need keys anymore. That's what I did. Good luck man!!

Looking to revive this thread. What did you use as a new cluster? Does somebody have the electrical schematic in order to use the RFID ignition?
I'm pretty interested too,or if anyone has a work around to keep the xB12s ignition behind the headlight?
So far all I find is the rfid or they go keyless with a hidden switch somewhere.

It'll be hard to "re-locate" the stock keyed ignition because it includes the steering lock mechanism, and is all cast into the head piece. If you want to keep a keyed ignition, one off a Sportster is easy:
