Has anyone had to deal with this and how did you diagnose the problem? also does the motor need to be rotated to repair this issue? any info on this would be awesome. I dont think i have a leak. I think the problem is electrical but was told to check this first. I have got to get this thing fixed before the Buell gathering at the dragon in April.

As much as I HATE starter fluid. spray some starter fluid around the seals at the head and see if your motor "revs up" if it does then you have a leak around the seals

The manual says propane but even brake/parts cleaner from a can is a good way to test

If it is the problem. To replace the gaskets you don't need to rotate the motor down. I didn't when I replaced mine. It was just a real pain in the ass. But you can do it without rotating the motor.

It's kind of easy if you take a cheap 1/2"(if I'm not mistaken)key and a cheap allen key and cut them to the lenght you need. I did it this way.

+1 to what everyone else has said. When I did mine, It acted like a bad intake gasket, but ended up being a bad head gasket. It took me 2 months to track it down, after dropping the engine a half-dozen times or so.

To the OP, does the bike run? or is it not starting at all?
