Just thought I'd give you guys a heads-up, I'm currently working with xopti on building a "Wireless ECMSpy" cable.

    Here's more info:

    http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums...ead.php?t=8112

Right now we are planning two versions, Bluetooth and WiFi.

The Bluetooth version will basically replace the USB cable everyone is using now. You'll be able to plug it in and forget about it, without removing your seat/cowl to run a cable. When you want to connect, just pull into your garage or pit area, then click "Connect" with your laptop/PC.

The WiFi version will give you longer range, but that's not all. It will allow you to connect your bike to ECMSpy over the internet, which means you can have your bike tuned from anywhere in the world. You can call up Mike (xopti) or someone else, and possibly have them tune your bike WHILE YOU RIDE!

We're looking at $100-$150 for the Bluetooth, probably closer to $300 for the WiFi.

I'm working on the prototypes now... Stay tuned.

I'm all over this. Now you'll be able to use any Palm-based PDA with Bluetooth to log.

That's pretty bad ass. It seems unlikely, but how secure would this be? Could someone nearby with bad intentions get in and detune the bejeezus out of it?

    No. Already thought of that.

The WiFi chip I'm using will incorporate the latest WiFi security measures, including SSL3/TLS1 protocol for secure sockets, HTTPS and FTPS, WEP, and WPA/WPA2 WiFi encryption.

    I got you covered...

Awesome dude. So if you have a smartphone with bluetooth can you put this application on your phone and use that to tune your bike? I would assume the phone would have to have a windows based OS right?

We're still working on how it all plays out. If you have a Palm with Bluetooth, then you should be able to tune it with your Palm without having to build a custom cable.

With a Smartphone, the idea is to connect to your ECM via BlueTooth, then link your Smartphone to your computer over WiFi.

We haven't tested this link yet, as I'm still working on the prototype. I'll keep you guys posted on how it turns out.
