First of the Last

Since the tail section is off the bike for a bit. I drug out the solo seat tail project I worked on and tried it.

So now I have an EBR air box cover, Firebolt seat and Lightning rails. The lines don't match up to terrible. I think the shorter swingarm would look better in this case.

And, I'm just not real happy with my cut job on this air box. I think I cut a little to high on the right side.

I've been working the last couple weeks on and off laying carbon fiber over the air box base to strengthen and seal it up. I've got it pretty well where it needs to be.

Now I'm going to try and focus on building an acrylic top. I took my work frame and built a floor using poster board. Then I lined the inside with Saran wrap. I just filled it with Great Stuff Foam.

I'll give it a day to cure. Then I'll start sculpting.

Well my last idea of making a form from expanding foam sucked. I tried it twice. The foam fell in on itself and shrunk. I trashed it all and started over.

So now I've taken some 1"x8"x15" cut them to the shape I want and placed them on end over a baseplate I made a few years ago. Some time with 60 grit and bondo and she's smooth now.

I plan on wrapping some plexiglass over the form to get the transparent middle section I've been after.

I removed the MotoGadget M-Lock from the bike. I rewired the kill switch as the ignition switch. Then I installed an AutoLoc AuthF500. The bike now works more like my Harley. I just have a key fob in my pocket, flip the kill switch to run, hit the start button.

That's nice! Much more like a factory car set-up and seems even less intrusive than the RFID push button start i just bought (again) haha.

And AutoLoc AuthF500 is cheaper than MotoGadget M-Lock.

What Harley do you have?

I have an 09 Night Train. I call it my wife's bike. She picked the Night Train because she likes the look. I bought it because she's an angry woman after being on the back of the Buell more than an hour.

It was stock when we got it. I've changed the bike quite a bit. Since the photo we've added some LaRosa bags.
