There was a lot of good input by several members.
I appreciate the input guys but your personal preferences on chain drives helps me zero...i have never owned a motorcycle that was belt driven until this one...back to the top, is there any other input on where to get a chain conversion for an xb 9? The link you posted ali was helpful but id already read that before i posted my question

get a sprocket from a 90-92 sportster for the front.
call sprocket specialties to get you a rear sprocket.
buy a chain from ebay.
modify the buell belt tensioner and order the idler sprocket from ebr along with spacer. There are a few others that sell custom chain tensioners if you wanna go that route.
