Thread: Kickstand switch...Bypass?

  1. #11
So it's the plastic plug that is actually the switch? So cutting that out and hard wiring together should work?

You can just unplug it and jump the two terminals together with a wire my man... You don't have to cut the plug off... You can do this till you replace the switch (if you're going to that is)...

    This plug runs to....

    .... this switch...

When your kick stand is up it closes the circuit inside of itself and sends a signal to the ECM so it will allow it to run when you take it out of neutral... Just unplug it and jump the two terminals in the plug on the bike side of the switch... The side that runs to the bike, not the one that runs to the switch...

Am I clearing up your confusion man??.... If not I'll take more pics if you need a walk through... It's not a problem... The bike is right out underneath my carport...

Thank you, I appreciate the help. I just cut it off and spliced together. That problem is fixed but I believe my plugs may be fouled.

Replaced plugs and bypassed kickstand switch but still having issues. Bike hits a flat spot about 2k to 4k and chokes out. Any ideas?

I'm getting a "sidestand input always high" error code off my ECM Droid.

I can't find any wires down by my sidestand. Could anyone tell me where those wires would lead to? Pics would be really appreciated!

But if someone cut off that sidestand switch and wired it up higher, where does it ultimately lead to? Somewhere up by the handlebar, or towards the ECU in the back?
