Today on my ride home I was downshifting coming to a stop light and then went threw it but when I went to 3rd or maybe it was second . It just went to nothing every time I would hit the clutch lever and then one last kick put it into 3rd or 4th . Any opinions I.feel like the clutch my be shot.

You can't be gentle shifting these transmissions or you will find false neutral every now and then. It is a possibility that there could be something wore if you have a consistent issue recurring at a consistent point. If this is the first time it's ever happened I wouldn't be too concerned.

But your post confuses me. Shifting into 2nd or 3rd?? I assume you mean it was either 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd and tour just not sure?? You might've been shifting from 1st to 2nd and hit nuetral? Lol

I think heagachongoose said it right... Don't be nice to these bikes when shifting... They don't shift near as smoothly as the Japanese bikes do... You have to make them shift....

I have to remind myself of that when I get on my XB after I've been riding either of my other bikes for any length of time... She (the xb) likes it rough..Lol

Your clutch isn't shot, lol. You need to shift harder. I run inverted shift, it feels more natural for me but also makes upshifts easier.

Though if you find yourself hitting false neutral often, it means you're due for a shift pawl adjustment. Follow the FSM.
