Dress for the slide, not the ride
yikes, crap that hurt like hell...wear your gear fellas, be safe
I can't ride without my jacket anymore. I get so uptight and nervous that I can't enjoy the ride. I hit a deer with my first bike. . . wearing shorts and a t-shirt. :(
I used to ride In a t or hoodie all the time. Got hit by two cars In 8 years of road riding and got lucky both times. Never leave home without me leather. Saving for boots, full leathers, and some gauntlet gloves(track propping for the near future). It's hot, its inconvenient, help its downright crazy. But I'd like to be around long enough to argue that point.
http://www.rockthegear.org More tales and pictures of road rash-ness.
Fortunately in my 17 years of riding I have never suffered an incident like some of these.(Doesn't mean I haven't "laid it down")
rockthegear is a great site ran by my good friend Brittany Morrow aka roadrash queen. stayed at her house and she has stayed with us for some good riding before moving out to Cali.
Thanks for sharing. Sure is a good reminder.
Even low speeds can be bad.
This is my old helmet around 15 mph... this would have been an entirely different story if I didn't have my gear on.
