So I have an AEM wideband that I was going to install on my bike, but I was wondering if I could wire the serial output wire into my ecu and not worry about using the factory narrowband 02 sensor.

Run the 0-5v to your gauge and the 0-1v analog to your ECU and you'll be golden.

Be sure to disable the closed loop operation of the ECM when you have the wideband plugged in. I log my AEM wideband through the stock O2 sensor pin all the time. It works really well, especially if you plan on using Megalog Viewer.

I currently use the AEM X-Wifi for wideband O2 and front and rear EGTs. It's a nice unit for dyno work since it will send the AFR and the EGT info wireless to my laptop so there is one less wire to connect to the bike on the dyno. I also have a WMS wideband(no longer available) that I can install if I just want to monitor AFR.

If you are using Megalog Viewer for VE analysis, be sure to select the correct wideband sensor from the options list. If it is not listed, you can create a custom wideband and enter the proper calibration formula so the AFR calcs are made correctly.
