Post up what tires have worked for you, sizes and all. Ive read the other 10 or so threads about tires and I know everybody loves their Avons and Pirellis. I wanted to get a good place of reference for newbs (like me) to know what to go for with grip, budget, miles and smiles. If you got something other than what people like, please post it as well, don't be shy.

P.S. - Anybody try the Metzler FeelFree Wintec ?

I just run the same tires, Michelin take-offs, and lower the air pressure so they warm up in cooler temps.

#1 - This is the Blast section, Michelin doesn't make tires for our 16" wheels.
#2 - I would never run take-offs on my motorcycle (unless they're my own, in an emergency). On a car? Sure, you're strapped in, in case of failure. On a bike? Not a chance. If that front tire fails, you're likely hitting the dirt. Hard.

If you've read all the threads, you shouldn't have any questions as to which tire is the best. Why would one more thread be any different?

Everyone likes Avon and Pirelli for a reason. Avon gets best mileage at the cost of a little grip. Pirelli gets the best grip at the cost of mileage.

I run Pirelli Diablo's (110/70-16 front, 140/70-16 rear) and usually get 2 seasons out of each front tire and 1 season out of each rear. Being ~$80/tire, they're the cheapest tires available and most will agree the best tire available for the Blast.

Metzeler is made by Pirelli. They get better mileage at the cost of grip. Avon's have been said to be better.

There's not much other choice besides Dunlop, but those are reputable for putting your ass in the asphalt.

I like my Pirelli Scorpion Sync but they are worn out and really I am only driving streets.
I heard good things about the pilot power 2ct from Michelin and I found the rear for 135 at a local bike shop 113 for the front.
getting them put on the rims this week. I hope the hype on them is true.;)

Realized this was the Blast section after I had posted......oops

I've put ~ 35,000 miles on take-offs without a problem, on bikes much, much faster then a Blast.

Nope, we're very limited in our tire choices.

I don't know of anyone that was aware of, let alone tried them (City Grip).

Here's a list of the readily-available tires that fit the Blast front/rear.
    http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...246-0-24-1-1-1

Pirelli Diablo - The go-to tire for the aggressive rider
Avon Viper Stryke - Better mileage, slightly less traction than Diablo
Metzeler, Pirelli ST66, Shinko - About equal. Best mileage, still good grip
Michelin - Untested, as far as I know
    Dunlop - Death wish
