Thread: Jardine fell apart

  1. #1
Was out riding the other day when all the sudden my exhaust got a little louder and changed tone. I pulled over to find that the rivets came out and i lost all the internals of the exhaust. I have a repack kit but do not have a baffle. Does anyone have an aftermarket exhaust for sale for a 2008 xb12R firebolt? or have a baffle for a Jardine?

I can build you one, but it will be a few weeks.

That sucks man! There should be a sub-forum for this issue! You're far from being the first this has happened to!

That would be awesome but I would prefer if someone could find me the piece I'm missing online or something because I dont have much riding time left. Ive been looking at the repack instructions and it doesn't even say anything about a baffle just a core piece

Anyone reading this thread who owns a Jardine and is worrying about this happening to them, there is a simple preventative solution. Purchase this:

    http://www.americansportbike.com/sho...0-Packing.html

Repack your muffler (EVEN IF ITS BRAND NEW), and ride for 10,000 miles.

It's normal those crap Jardines. I repacked mine using aircraft grade -5 cherrymax's, and low and beyond 4oo miles later the vibration wallered out the holes, so i threw it out and installed Hawk exhaust.

I bought my bike with the jardine on it...I replaced it with a stock muffler within 2 weeks. Very happy with the results. :)

Mine fell apart at 10k, due to my neglect.

Replaced with a Ti can from Jardine and the ASB upgraded packing. Still holding strong at 23k.

Call Jardine (Supertrapp) customer service, and they will probably be able to sell you just the pieces you need. I was able to buy just the rubber strip that goes around the can bracket. I did also buy their expensive packing kit, but turns out my packing was still good!
