Thanks guys. I just wanted to say that not only was the build fun, but posting it up on hear was just as much. Thanks for being cool about this. I know some people are totally against modifying a Buell other than bolt on parts. Thanks for not harassing me. I hope I did a good enough job that even the Buell die hards don't mind it and appreciate the attention and full rebuild this bike got.

As I always do, I set a budget. But the more I dug into the bike the more I liked it and decided this would be a bike I would keep and put some serious miles on. Because these are out of production I decided to not just do a revamped look, but fully rebuild the bike and replace things as preventive maintenance so when done I would essentially have a "new" bike. I also ordered some backups for down the road if parts get hard to find.

I put together a list of the parts.... coming next.

So this leaves a grand total of $8824 in parts plus the $900 for the bike. That puts me all in at $9724. I believe to have 5-600 hours in it of my own time. Not all of that is wrenching, its sitting there scratching my head fiquring out ways to do things. All things considered, that's not that bad for a unique one off bike that is basically "new". Quality builds cost money. I don't intend to sell this one. Gonna ride it for many years to come.

Took it out today for a ride. Its real windy and cold. But the roads were dry. These bikes are so fun. Although my bike looks different, I'm a Bueller now. These bikes are so simple to work on. Sound great. Handle amazing. Such a great bike with good "bones".

    Peace.

    It looks amazing.

This is probably the best build thread I've ever seen as well. Kudos Nicholas! The only thing left to do is to post a video of you doing a ride by at high speed. :D

looks great man. the satisfaction in the end is so worth it. enjoy the bike. my build starts in the winter months here but im just doing a ton of preventative maintenance, paint/powder and some misc stuff. wont be anything too unique unless I come up with something cool.

You're completely right nicholas. That is a very small amount for such a machine, but the best part is you built it, you designed it. You didn't take your checkbook to some shop and have them build it. Hold your head up high......you have impressed all of us here. Now go get those credit card sized chicken strips off that beautiful machine..lol
