With the first picx I was going to say,,,,,NOooooo! leave it alone! Oh no another ill conceived custom!

But looking at the picx of what you did, I think you did a great job. I have a 97 S1 lightning, with black bodywork, and i LIKE the Nuclear blue and want to redo my frame to that color, I think it would look great against the black body work.

But your bike turned out well, I can tell you are an A & P type wit how you mounted many of the parts and the AN stainless lines and hardware. (Im a former Air Force Mechanic as well as current A&P lic holder)

Can I ask what you got the tail body work from? I have been looking Aerotechs body work and some of their custom pieces intended for Buells as well as some of their other body work. Are the foot controls BANKE performance or did you make your own out of billet?

I see you went with the PM wheels, look elsewhere on this forum and a clever lad did a indepth tech write up of the mods he did to his tuber where he upgraded the forks, wheels and other parts to XB stuff on his tuber. He says he got a big improvement in handling and it looks great.

Nice work, you should be proud.

so I just signed up to comment here.

That is a wonderful looking bike you have put together!!!

I have a question about your intake...fabbed yourself, or purchased? I have an 00 x1, and want to do something similar with my intake, but not sure what to do with the air temp sensor that is routed into the factory air cleaner...

I could go on with a multitude of questions, but will leave it at that for the time being :)

GREAT JOB. I'm jealous. Very jealous.

    Thank you for the compliments!!
The intake is from a company called Figure Engineering out of VA... What i did was install a 5/8 CV carb spacer (same bolt pattern as the injection throttle body) to space it away from the frame.. I then fabricated a holder for the inlet temp sensor and mounted it just under the fuel tank above the throttle body housing so it is some what in the air slip stream. Appears to be working fine and do not have any engine trouble codes with over several rides on the bike...
