Anyone who treats motorcycling like a winter sport might want to check out these Alpinestars Drystar gloves. I picked them up over the summer on sale for ~$20 (retail $95) but I haven't had the chance to give them a try until today when I went out for a 1.5 hour ride in 0C (30F) temperatures at sustained speeds up to ~130km/h (80 mph).

My first impressions are positive, including:
+ Unbeatable sale price.
+ Snug tailored fit just like a motorcycle glove should.
+ Comfortable lining without any seams or bunched fabric digging-in to the hand anywhere.
+ Very warm. The synthetic leather palms allow warmth from the heated grips to penetrate and give a good tactile feel, while the textile back of hand breathes without letting heat to escape.

On the down side:
- I would prefer the gauntlet to be another 1-2" longer for wind & damp protection.
- I'm not sure how asphalt-resistant the 'synthetic leather' palms actually are. It would be nice to have some metal studs for added crash protection.
