So whats wrong with the current tensioner?
I have most of a chain setup. Actually a complete part that is off one of my XB short chassis bikes, I converted back to belt.
$150 shipped
- Like new chain (30 miles) receipt for $150 installation
- front sprocket w spacers
- rear Vortex sprocket, low mileage as well
- includes but I don't recommend, 03 tensioner "**** rigged" (flipped over to keep chain off swing arm)
Good to go racing if you have a chain tensioner or can make one.
So whats wrong with the current tensioner?
It's not in the right place to keep the chain from hitting the swing arm.
You can flip it upside down and add a sprocket to it. Even better is to slot one hole for adjustability. Even better than that is to add a set screw to hold that adjustment.
I've had much better luck doing that than the multiple failures of the expensive "replacement" for the conversion.
Many threads on hereā¦.
^ I have no connection to this person nor have they seen the set up?? Current tensioner has been fixed exactly as Cooter described. Flipped upside down and slotted one hole to avoid hitting swing arm. also a bushing was added to keep it in place.
I wouldn't use it because I like the belt set up, hence the reason it came off the bike same day I bought it.
Thanks guys!
