Thread: Which exhaust? 08 xb12xt

  1. #1
My bike is stock right now, I want to buy a slip on, looking at a jardine, but am reading they require alot of maintence as far as repacking them alot.:( What i'm looking for is something that is loud, not a straight pipe where I'm going to lose my torque. I want a loud screaming beast lmao. Also, with a stock air filter, do i have to buy a fuel programmer or can i get away with just a slip on? How about both a slip on and also a k&n?
    thanks

Ok so I'm looking at a D&D pipe, my question is, when looking up parts for my bike which is a 08 xb12xt, is it the same as a xb12x? As far as pipes/etc? I'm kinda new to this part and don't see many parts for just the xb12xt but alot more for the xb12x. Where's my cheapest bet for the d&d?

Seems quite for one of your exhausts Dean. My RT3 can be heard from at least a mile a way. At least that's what the guys at work say.

The XB pipes are considerably quieter for some reason.

I recommend the Keda (stainless=lifetime) + EBR ecm and open airbox w/K&N

o8uly: as brian mentioned....the X and XT parts mostly the same. only difference between the models is the factory fitted luggage and a few other minor conveniences. dean's workmanship and exhaust is exceptional and he's a great guy to deal with. if you're frugal/economical/smart-shopper as i pride myself in being, consider a hawk muffler. good quality...quick turn-around...nice sound...sexy dual outlets....good performance. all for under $150. as in oil and tire preferences, exhaust systems are a religion on this site.

I am going to go with a D&D muffler, my question is, what else will I need? I mean as far as will I have to buy a fuel controller? Or do I just do a tps reset? Also with the interactive valve.... Do I just remove the cable and leave it hooked up? This is the other stuff I was wondering. Thanks much so far guys!
