Don't. Even. Go. There. :D
Seriously, there are a million different opinions on the matter.
I have 4 qts of Valvoline sitting here along with a new filter.
I'm sure it's ok to run in the swing arm but would like to know if it's ok in the primary and why or why not?
Short answer is clutches need friction to grab and make the bike move. Engine oil is made to fight any form of friction.
So wtf should I run in the primary? I only have an Advanced Auto store nearby so what would they have?
I'm going to run the valvoline in the swing arm.
This is so annoying.
I know my local oriley and autozones carry a small selection of motorcycle oils
I have read about people using automatic transmission fluid in their primaries with good results. If you have to that may be the route to go.
