    I use this

    usb adapter

hard wired directly to bike, mounted on my fairing stay. as for the phone mount, I went with a cheap iPhone holder from 5 below, just zip tied it to my triple. it works great, misses the fairing, I have a waterproof case on the phone so don't have to worry about that. and it made it on a 6k mile trip across the country without breaking or anything. all together for under 20 bucks

Forget that. Battery tender has a USB plug now. Plugs right into their battery cable then just run an iphone cable up to the bars.

true... but I use the tender plug for my heated gear switch, so having a separate hot lead is needed in my case.

Go with a Ram mount, here is one setup on amazon to get an idea. They are like legos so you can build up a "kit" that works for you from individual parts that will work best for you. I run mine off of one of the bolts for the handlebar mount, it puts the ball on top of where the bolt would be. My phone ends up right below the stock gauge cluster centered between the bars. They are built very well and secure, I have no doubt the phone would stay in the mount in a fall.

    Go with a Ram mount

I made my own bracket to mount the ram mount to the left mirror perch (I have a bar-end). I also installed a switched 12v socket inside my left air scoop. Then I just connect with an 18" USB cable & 12v socket adaptor.

Best bang for the buck is the Uly which has a 12v socket right on the dash.

    Buy a Uly.
