3 quarts, every time on my 1125. Sure, it was an 08, but it's the same motor. That oil change was drop the filter, oil screen on the right side and drain plug. Put 3 quarts of Amsoil 20w50 in it and go. My 1190rx says 3.3 quarts, it took 3.7 to actually fill it and get it in the middle of the sight glass range. Worst case, you get a little bit of oil in the airbox.
Both the 1125 and the 1190 must be checked on flat ground and on the sidestand, NOT upright on a lift.
I maybe able to help.. with my 09 1125cr I had to check it on upright while at running temp..(per manual and per local dealer specs). After yhr motor had a catastrophic melt down and I ended up with a 2010 motor directly from ebr it is different now.. there is no dipstick. There is a bung where the dipstick should be but it is just the fill port now.. the 10 motors have a sight glass and is to be checked via threw that. While at operating temp and on its side stand.(per local dealership who did the motor swap and also ebr). I contacted them in disbelief of what the dealer told me. Also I know that I have to open the fill cap or dipstick to let the engine depresurize and then the fluid level will drop to normal conditions.. just food for thought
