Can anyone shed some light on this comparison? I've ridden the 1190rx at a demo event last weekend.... LOVED it. It's WAY out of my price range though. How does it compare to the 1125 bikes? It seems like a logical comparison, but I have yet to see it.
I've only ridden a handful of bikes in general.... lots of time on Ninja 650r, SV650, and my xb12scg... demoed a FZ-09 and a Ninja 1000 (not zx10). The Ninja 1000 felt like the sv650 on steroids, the 1190rx was the SV in Hulk mode. I didn't have free range... but did do WOT on the hwy a couple times, and some heavy acceleration from lights and merging to on ramps.

So, I'm curious.... How do the 1125 bikes stack up between the XB12s and the 1190rx? Ergo, power, etc... any input is nice. So.... i guess this could go in the 1125 section, but i think many people just want to hear the comparison in both directions... I bet many more have ridden 1125 and not the 1190.

Dean Adams is the only forum member I know off the top of my head that has owned/owns both bikes. If I recall correctly he had described the 1190 as essentially being a very refined 1125 with more power. Basically better in every way.

1190 = +40 hp (crank rated). Real world #'s are about (just guessing here) 25 hp at the wheel between my 1125 and the 1190. It's a noticeable difference. Handling is very good, I'll go with leaps and bounds over a stock 1125 with no upgrades. I'm somewhat (99%) sure it would be very similar if I'd have upgraded to the BPF and Ohlins shock out back for the 1125. If you're in the market for an 1125, mine's available and is currently putting 139-140 hp to the ground. Clean/clear title and I'll be in NC at Deal's Gap this week if you live near there and want it delivered. Bring cash though.

Thanks for the opinions! Anyone else please feel free to chime in.

I'm really not in the market for an 1125 right now.... though one just popped up in my area. I'm really hoping my brother will buy it so I can swap my xb12scg with him on occasion. Maybe I'll tell him I'm buy it from him at his cost in a couple years.

I'm sure you know... but there's plenty of jealous non-1190rx owners... and will only be more as more people get a chance to ride them!

    Comparison: 1190RX, RS, 1125r/cr.

RX is by far the easiest to ride, turns without effort, comfortable, and the power band is just as advertised. It is improved in every way. RS is better in some ways and more difficult in some. Turning radius is longer, has a more radical feel, and hotter in traffic. It is clearly not a commuter bike. With race ECM and full exhaust, power band shifted toward the top. It is noticably lighter, and suspension upgrades and especially clutch are better. Interestingly, the seat is not uncomfortable (such as it is) and have ridden it more than 6 hrs in a day. Comparing either one to the 1125, either one is a comparison of generations. Less power, less agile, less comfortable. That being said, the 1125 is a great bike. The R gives you more to hide behind, and the 08, other than the clutch weep is virtually error free. The CR gives you what none of the above have: a naked bike. I figure you really can't go wrong.
