Well, it's been awhile. Bike has been down for about 1.5 years and I'm itching to ride again. I seem to have run into a problem when attempting to replace my stator: the stator cover will NOT come off of the stator. I've tried pulling, pushing, prying, hitting it with the heat gun, PB Blaster, etc. Here is how the bike sits currently:

    Thoughts??

Some magnetic bond is normal, but it sounds like what you're encountering is more significant than that (?).

When I helped my neighbor with his, he had broken mounting screws. You may have the same issue and they might be jammed. Try harbor freight and see if they have a bearing puller or a steering wheel puller that might work.

I don't know why I had the itch to sign in here again. But since I did, I thought I might provide closure to this for anyone reading this thread. A basic bearing puller from Harbor Freight did the trick... for like $9. Bike was totaled only a week after it was fixed, so womp.

Do you have the part # of the puller? It might be helpful for someone in a jam, before they lock this down.
