Thanks, I hadn't though of that, and if it works like that I can just wire the switch directly through to the rear brake wire, I think. I'm not an electrician, I'm a soldier dammit!
Thanks LeFox
get a wire, connect battery to switch-connection and see if your light works...
if it works, your switch is busted. ;)

no, if it works, you need to replace the switch...
if it doesn't workn then either you have a bad connection @ the switch which could be solved by testing like said above, or your wire is disconnected somewhere along the way to the light.
your light does work with the rear brake?
Yes it does work with the rear brake, when I traced the wire it is connected the whole way from front to back, I'm thinking it's the switch. I am waiting to hear back from the military car sales guy though, if he has my warranty on record I'm taking it to HD in Regensburg and having them fix it for me, if not I'll just 'have' (get) to buy a volt meter. Work the problem out from there.
Good to have you back! How's the wife handling the move?
Watch out for those German keyboards, the Y and Z are switched! WTF
The wife is doing well actually, and I brought my own keyboard, thanks though.
Welcome back, Fido. You'll have a blast in Germany.
Welcome back Brother
