Not shifting into 5th gear

Hi, I recently bought a Buell Blast 500(492cc) very cheap due to a oil leak from the engine gasket and not being able to shift into 5th gear. I'm assuming that the leak is due to a broken seal which is no biggie unless you've heard of this same thing that is a much bigger problem but my real question is what is going on in the gear box. Neutral, 1st, 2ed, 3rd, and 4th all work great with no problems what so ever it just refuses to go into 5th gear...PLEASE HELP

Do the shift pawl adjustment per the Factory Service Manual.
