This is the procedure for putting a 2010 LED tail light on a 03-09, I know it says 09 but I assure you it is the same for your bike.

Did you get the license plate light? If you didn't hd still sales them.
Ecliptech. The lens replacement comes in clear and smoke, and it looks much better than the 2010 stock lens.
