Hey all. Really been wanting a project bike. Came across this post and felt it was kinda sketchy but the price seems too good to pass up.

Really want to make a cafe racer out of it and I really like the earlier shadows.

Not that sketchy (for craigslist) just really rough bike.
A Shadow is more of a bobber donor than a cafe donor.
That 52° V-twin is a pretty solid design & a fun little motor. I think it'd be great in a Cafe, though I agree with the above comment that the Shadow chassis might be better suited to a Bobber.
Regardless of how much you strip off, you'll likely still have lots of rotted rubber & hardened seals to replace on a bike that's over 25 years old.
Depending on how much of the chassis you want to reuse, it'd be worth running a tape measure over it to check for damage.
If you're not scared of the possibility of discovering it's in even worse shape than it appears, I don't think it's a bad price or place to start.
