How many spots did you have to weld total?

Four or five spots. The first two pics are the same. I had to get the left and right sides welded where the motor mounts on a bracket on either side. Then one long one on the left inside and and small button got welded on the right inside as well.
I put the new generator in last week and am currently measuring valve lash. All of them seem to be in spec so far. I ordered a used radiator since the old one was all busted and had no tabs. Really after I paint the welds and mount the motor it should go together relatively quickly. I will need a few misc. bolts and little stuff but I think I can I have her up and running in couple of weeks. The big ticket item so far will be plastics.
The frame was the big thing that needed to be done and now that I got that done I feel a lot better.

Oh, I ordered a new seat too because the old one was alligator skin, I almost puked in my mouth when I saw the seats.

Keep an eye on all these areas. By welding the cracks, you have brought the temper of the aluminum down in these areas, making the aluminum weaker, possibly even into an annealed condition.
