I have a 2006 Uly with 103,000 miles. It is starting to get excessive valve noise. i"m planning on rebulding the heads and installing to lifters. Should i stick to just rebuilding the heads or should i just do a complete rebuild of the engine while i have it that far?

Would have to be the highest mile XB for a trophy, and it's not. Not even in the top numbers :) probably not even top 20-50.
I'd suggest complete overhaul. My buddy has an 08 motor which you could retrofit that crank into your motor fairly easy.
I have a good crank out of an 04 xb12s if interested, bolts right in. $250+ shipping.
Heads, cylinders, anything all bolts right in from any other 04-07 XB12 motor
im going to have to baby it for a little bit. i have a few bills i need to take care of before i start this overhaul. I'll have to call on my little Blast to pick up some of the slack until then.
