So I have recently ordered a set of white plastics from buellparts.net. They are taking their sweet time getting here so I have time to figure out how I am going to do this. I am going to be making my lightning white and putting black lightning bolt decals on it but I want to move the "X" from my transparent blue air box to the new white ones.
Has anyone done this? Can you offer suggestions as to how I should go about it?

A hair dryer will be hot enough, use fishing line to get the emblem off.
Finishing line? And are you talking about getting the buell stickers off?
I removed the X... It's easy, but looks terrible. The adhesive was baked in and sunk into the plastic
It often takes a bit of sanding and polishing to fix up the air box after removing the X and the adhesive... Time consuming and tedious. Fishing line and heat works well for removal. Use a mild adhesive remover to clean up the air box and the X. To reapply the X u can use 3m double sided molding tape or transfer adhesive (its a little thinner and would likely look better). Clean the air box its going on with rubbing alcohol b4 applying.
Ran into the same thing as Wayne on a Kick Ash air box. Maybe someone on here has one you can purchase, instead of removing it from the Hero air box.
The hero blue plastics are not being kept. They were unfortunately not treated well by previous owners and are cracked and broken beyond repair. This is the case for the air box cover and the fly screen. I am just wanting to transfer the X to my new plastics when they arrive.
Jason9sx, Have pictures? I may be interested in purchasing the "beyond repair" pieces.
For any residue use ether and a lint free rag. Don't forget the elbow grease.
