Well, I was waiting outside of Sam's Club with a business membership since 5 am just to find out they only had one Playstation 3, and I was second in line. Some systems are going for $3800+ on ebay. I just want to play. This is insanity.

Should have gone to best buy and made a line for a week... Many people did that here! Too much hype for an idiotic video game console IMO

Ha, I bet that woke em up. I might understand people waiting in TX in decent weather, but we've had people out for the last week and it's been cold and wet. I just bid on one on ebay for $100 over retail. There are almost 3000 PS3 systems on eBay. The first 20 or so are going for way too much, but there are auctions that are just hours away from being over without any bids at all. I bet everyone thought they were going to make a killing selling systems on eBay.

Everybody who bought one must be selling it. THere were over 15000 hits for PS3 on Ebay last time I looked and they were all going for $2k and up. That's nuts.

I can hold off until April. The only PlayStation games I've ever owned are the Gran Turismos. I have no others.

Plus, why would you want to own a system when there isnt hardly any games out for it yet....

Because people are crazy, and want the latest thing regardless. I bought a Wii, not in short supply, plenty of games, backwards compatible, and many standard unique features.

Ahhhh. The power of the free market. Values are crashing. They're going for around $1100 now. That's down from near $2500 last Friday.

I wouldn't pay more than $300 for any of the new systems. I'll wait till they drop in price next Christmas when something else new comes out.

You might have to wait a little longer than next year. Most consoles don't drop price until the new version comes out. And the PS4 probably won't appear for a while.

I am with you though. A $650 video game is a little crazy, let alone paying 3k for it on e-bay
