Custom intake question

I know it's relatively easy to toss the airbox and build my custom intake. Doing so saves me the money and then I can just buy the superboot, not the whole kit. What works better coming off the carb? A 22, 45, 60 or a 90?

Or does the carb require the tubing to screw into the carb itself?
