oil filter beware

i called K&N and spoke to a tech i was told not to use the kn hp-1003 in place of the powersport K&N kn-177.the engine can suffer oil starvation/and other things/i was told they arent made the same. i would double check all the car filters that fit and call the company who makes them.

Hmm, i ran the K&N for a while, should i be worried?

I never once saw the oil pressure light stay on for an extended period of time on startup, or come on at any point while riding.

I'm running a bosch filter now, seems fine as well.

whats even worse is that kn-177 is made in china/ the safe bet is the hd filter 63806-00y/perf-form filter OB-101/its pretty sad when i called amsoil for a filter for my 03 xb9s they said they dont make one and they gave me a wix # 51394/i see threads with a part# EAO 09/SDF10.for a ams filter but they also claim that the motorcycle filters EAOM are differant then for autos./they claim the drainback valve/and filter media for a bike is differant/then a car.i use amsoil in the engine/trans why not use there filter?/is there any oil out there that makes these buells shift smoother?i got 8k on mine and man you cant really speed shift/they clunk/do the chains whine slowing down?i checked the play like 4 times/its on specs.

I use the Wix filter and amsoil combo, used it with Mobile 1 before, no issues with either
