Does the headlight fuse affect charging?
Went for a ride today and the check engine light came on. I rode for about 15 min and it died on front of car quest. The battery was completely dead. While the store charged the battery I found a melted headlight fuse. I replaced the fuse and rode home now it's charging fine. I think some add on lights melted the fuse, but now I want a volt Gage.
Important the bike wont start without the headlight fuse and is impossible to bump start

in reading my charging circuit diagram, a red wire from voltage regulator pin 2 goes into pin 42 of key switch. ties to the lights.

There is a thread about adding a volt gauge to your cluster. I did it to a buddies of mine and it wasn't all that difficult. I would remove any access lighting and start from scratch.
