I tried looking for an ounce measurement when I was rebuilding the last set. Couldn't find one. Easiest way is to measure it how the manual does. Fork tube compressed and the spring out.
Looking to find out how much fork oil is in cc's/oz's for a 2008 lightning 1200............

So how does one buy 4.5 inches from the top of fork oil??? I've rebuilt 100's of sets of forks and can't remember not being able to find the capacity in cc's or oz's...Leave it to HD...
I know 1125's take approximately 16oz each leg, they are 43mm forks.
but the manuals all show distance from top not oz's
it's 16 fluid ounces from full dry after a rebuild.
When I rebuilt my last set of xb forks one bottle did both. like lunatic said. Couldn't hurt to have a spare bottle though
How necessary is it to change this at 10,000 miles?
Will it break down and then cause handling issues?
It's about the only motorcycle maintenance, I am not comfortable doing.
Worry no more! I am here to help!

Super easy to just change the oil, that is a video I made on replacing the seals.
