I agree with Chicken. That clutch cable is very brittle. Ask me how I know.

Asking if you should buy a Buell is like asking if you should have sex with women.
The answer is yes. **** yes.

@ fireinthexb lmao hear ya loud & clear! @chicknstripn, would be able to run through the gears with the clutch cable gone? I ask because this is my 1st bike & I know nothing. Other than basics from working on cars. But Thanx for all the info! Much appreciated!
Nope, get a clutch cable on the bike before you buy it.
You can check gears are stand still with a clutch cable. Just hold clutch and go up through the gears. each gear getting to the friction zone to make sure it rotates and doesn't grind (up or down)
I've got a blown output trans bearing here, doing full motor swap and parting out original motor.
You can also swap a 12 motor into a 9 & vis versa should you want more power down the line
id get the bike. but i have different kinds of taste. a lot of people look at buell and wonder why anyone would like such a bike. i think most people are just plain ignorant to what a buell is. an american company tried its best and was shot down. i knew for a long time i wanted a buell XB the bike screams my name. gnarly harley based vtwin, vibration at idle, exhaust note, belt drive, parameter disk brake, dry sump oiling system using the swing arm as the oil pan!! these bikes are cooler than the rest hands down. and absolutely gorgeous! i would have preferred if buell and harley were still together sharing tech to make great street bikes.
so when you do pull the trigger on getting the bike..........pics or it didn't happen:D welcome to the forum
Apsolus, great description. In short, buying a Buell was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Pull the trigger, post some pics, and ride safe.
Well.....where are the pix???? I know this is old....but I just came across it
