    Hey folks,

I'm going to buy a carb this weekend and it's going to be on a '96 S1 with a 1250 that will be racing. I've looked at the HSR 42 but I need a little help. Should I buy the 42 or upgrade to a 45 or 48 because of the increase in displacement and the racing application. I'm a lot more knowledgeable about FI so I'm all ears.

    Thanks again,

    JP

The 42 will work without modification, I think the 45 and 48 require either some machining or relieving of material to make them fit. I put a 42 on my cyclone last year, changed the pilot to a 45 (I think) and the main was maybe a 175 or 180. You'll probably need a little more fuel for the 1250 kit.
