The muffler on my 03 XB9R fell off on the highway a couple days ago so I'm looking for a stock one to replace it. It was a homemade one that was flattened by a semi so no loss there. I'm hoping to find one for $100 shipped. Does anyone know if it will damage anything if I ride it without a muffler? This bike is my only form of transportation so I need to ride it to school.

Yes, it's a miracle I'm alive! I was on i69, in a construction area where there is only one lane each way with a concrete barrier separating traffic. I felt a big bump but only from the rear wheel. At that same moment, the bike got louder. I just thought the bump shook the exhaust loose so I stopped at the next exit to see if I could do anything about and discovered the whole muffler missing. I then realized the bump I felt was me running over it!
I live 20 minutes south of Flint, MI but I'm not against riding an hour or two to get what I need. I can borrow a car if I have to also.
I can not believe the muffle fell off. You must of had no clamps on it wow. I'm glad I was not on the bike for that ride that had to be scary as ****. You are lucky you did not get run over by the semi.

The welds broke, leaving behind the front mounting tabs. I'm not sure how the back was held up, if it was at all.
Buellsterparts.com has a few stock exhaust...other option
