Is there any way that we could work on improving the private messaging system? It would be much cleaner if messages between people stay in one link rather than getting a new one every time. It would also be nice to be able to see sent messages so that we don't send duplicate messages. I know this is nit picky stuff but I think they would make nice additions to the forums.
Said it before, S M F software. Archive this entire forum, lock it all down for later reference and start over. I offered to do so, but not at the price that was asked. I have servers available to host it that are MORE than capable of the traffic generated here, as well as the expertise to run the new forum software.
I don't specialize in web forums but as someone who dabbled in computer science in college the forums make me cringe sometimes.
Literally yesterday my girlfriend (who I met on a truck forum) asked why this forum looks so weird.
Does it all come down to money and funding for it.....
How about a go-fund-me that we could all pitch it for? How much are we talking about?
A lot. Well, the asking price was anyway. More than my new truck cost me and it wasn't a cheap truck either.
I am currently working an a forum upgrade. It will fix lots of things including the messaging system. I am planning to have it done in max 1 - 2 weeks. It is almost ready, just need to do some more testing.
Cool. Would it e-mail us like on others when we have a message or someone posts a reply to a thread we posted on?
