Id check the tip over sensor, i also have an extra one if need be.
Hi all, hoping maybe someone here has experienced this or may have a clue..
(please believe me, I've searched!)
So I have a 2003 XB9 and it randomly dies. Like it cuts out randomly while I'm driving. When it happens I am simply able to flick the kill switch off and on and it resumes running. I've gotten pretty good at restarting it while on the road, but it's tough to live with honestly (not to mention if I'm riding at night, when I flick the switch my light turns off then back on...)
I have been through the wiring many times, replaced the grounds several times to no avail (two grounds bolted to the headtube). It wont just die in the driveway either, it's always when it's moving on the road.
I replaced the throttle side controls (kill switch start button etc..)
I know this isn't much to go on, but any ideas what it may be?? It's super frustrating!
Thank you so much!

^^^^^ what shawn said and try removing your 2 sidestand safety switch wires(2003 model you said), make jumper for the 2 wire pins, attach....then take for a ride and see if that resolves it. you might also have an ignition relay that is acting up. for a few bucks i'd consider replacing it.
Thanks you guys! I'll have some time today to putz with it and will look into both of these spots. Will report back with what I find!
If it's an R they like to break the ignition switch red wires up in th housing.
