I also have the D&D on a 08 xb12r, it is definitely loud!!

I have a D&D on my '06 12R. Absolutely amazing! Totally linear throttle response from idle to rev limit. No lag at all, ever. I'm so impressed.

I also have an '09 12R with a Buell race pipe. ...Underwhelmed... It will likely be for sale soon

Hey Dobe1 how's the performance on your '08? I'm thinking about putting the d&d on my '09

Is the 09 tuned? And have a matching air Filter?
It's needs a matching tune or it, like most better flowing exhaust will cause the bike to run lean and not perform as well

ASB did a large shoutout of all exhausts a while back and while some exhaust had a better if range, nothing beat the Race Kit in the higher RPMs.

I bought my bike with a D&D pipe on it already, so can't really compare to other systems.
Works great for me, no lag/problems.
Should come with a supply of ear plugs!

Yup, i keep a fresh bag in the tail!

The '09 is in the process of tuning. It keeps getting better every day. Decel pop is all but gone. Engine braking is pretty awesome. Pulls pretty hard above 2k. Got rid of the 4k surge and most of the off idle bog. Still need to gut the airbox. Has K&N and breather reroute.

The thing I dont like about the Race pipe is the Farty Harley cop bike sound it makes off idle. It's "OK" at higher RPM's.

I'm thinkin it's just not going to sound like a bike with a D&D on it till it is a bike with a D&D on it! Go Dean,Whooty Hoo!!

    (winky face)...

How crucial is the butterfly valve? Is it for noise, emissions, mpg, or power?

Amen! With one kid starting college and two more to go it might be awhile.
