Current opinion poll... No chin fairing?

I'm contemplating a Drummer SS. Don't want to drop extra cash on chin fairing brackets. I like the look of no fairing.

What's the community 's stance on no fairing? Anyone side effects, etc?

No fairing mate dont hide the Drummer! The only side effect is you drool more and look at your reflection in shop windows! plus its one less part to rattle loose! lol

I think the chin fairing completes the look. I don't think the bike looks quite right without it. Just my opinion, of course. BUT, chin fairing brackets are a big PITA to put on/take off.

Does the fairing serve a purpose other than aesthetics? FOD protection or high air pressure protection?

No, but if that's the look you're after so be it...then I'd go buy a Ducati Monster. Buell motorcycles are unique in every sense of the word. they already look different from the norm, sound different from the norm, perform different from the norm....so why try making them look like the norm? call me a smart ass, Buell purist, or whatever...that's my opinion and like a$$holes, we all have one.

besides...I think everyone else is trying to look like a Buell

The only way I would exclude the chin faring is if I bought a pipe from Dean. That is one sexy beast.

I'm asking about function here guys... I'd prefer the fairing but think $75 is steep for brackets.

I'm also investigating Deans products... same price for the brackets tho!

Stock muffler with chin fairing looks better.

Chin fairing function is to prevent muffler rust because of abrasive wear of the muffler paint because of sand, dust and rocks.

Have you ever seen a guy with multiple chins? Funny, but not half as hilarious as a dude with no chin at all... $75 ain't **** if your considering a DA exhaust. The amount of crap on my fairing is enough to motivate me to keep it on so I'm not cleaning the case and slip-on.
