    Getting a new bike...

So. I'm about to make an impulse buy lol I know there is a big supermoto crowd on here so maybe I can get some insight from you guys. Im going Monday to check out/bring home a '98 Yamaha wr400. Looks to be in great shape. As long as it runs good and the bearings are ok then I'll be bringing it back. Anything in particular I should be on the lookout for?

I'm wanting to street it. Suggestions on a speedo/tach? I see a lot of vapors out there. What's cheap and works well enough? What's the usual price range for a set of wheels? Nothing fancy. Just some normal and preferably cheap 17's. I've got everything else I would need laying around the garage lol.

The WR will be my commuter bike. What kind of maintenance schedule am I looking at here? The 98's have the SS valves so they shouldn't be an issue. Do they like the highway? Wondering if it will handle daytrips..

Lastly, any gearing suggestions? I'd like to be able to cruise on the highway without the damn thing blowing up. That would be nice lol.

But here it is. Picked it up yesterday for an embarrassingly low price.

    NEVER!

I figured I'd just put the knobbies on the 1125 and swap the street tires onto the yami! Street bike for the dirt and dirt bike for the road! Now my moto-orientation will nearly be as ****ed up and backwards as my head
