The first time I drained my fuel I tried using a regular funnel. Gas, I'm sorry, petrol went every where but the bucket I was trying to drain it into. The next time I drained the petrol from the tank I thought of using an old url(that's southern for oil) container as a funnel.
I don't think I spilled a single drop. Take your time and don't just pull the plug all the way out. Use the plug to regulate the flow.
Millions? I have three kids. They always get first dibs. Needless to say I'm always broke.

the tip about not pulling the plug out all the way is a bit late for me, I set up a square grape juice container just like you showed and it worked great other than the pressure was a bit much and I did get some splashing on other things. it did end up having about 5 gallons of 2 year old fuel in it (saved it for the lawnmowers now), but now its all filled up with fresh fuel and running like a champ.

Yea, sorry about that. Don't why I didn't think of it sooner. But just imagine what a mess it would have made if you would have tried using a conventional funnel!

I just replaced the fuel pump in my 9R. I chose another path to empty the tank. I have ecm spy, so I removed the line at the fuel rail and inserted the same size tubing as the rail in to the outlet and attached a hose. I used ecm spy to activate the fuel pump and let it do the work. The pump runs for about 45 seconds or so. It took about 6 cycles to empty it completely. I removed the drain plug and about an ounce of fuel came out. I kept a battery charger connected while draining just to keep from draining the battery too.
