Would it be possible to adapt 1" grips to fit 7/8" bars? I've found some grips I want to use but they are 1".

If you find a way to convert the diameter, please keep in mind the travel of the levers. You definitely don't want to restrict that! ;)

The grips I'm looking at are aluminum, and they attach using a set screw. Someone on another forum said they used black electrical tape on the handlebars to make up the difference, but I don't know if I like that idea.

You might be able to get PVC pipe with an inner dia of the handle bar and then sand it/put it on a lathe and get the OD to your grips. Thats my quick idea
